5 ways to Love Yo'Self More

Life is hard. There is absolutely NO denying that but there are so many ways we can grab this life by both hands and take control. I had a really tough day yesterday. I won't go into gory details but lets say that sometimes freaking hard things happen and it was a true test to myself on how I was going to deal with it. I instantly went into "Pity Me" mode. I was angry, pissed off and totally irrational. But then I did a couple of things and it completely flipped my mood and we actually ended up having one of the best nights we have had in ages. It made me realise that we really do determine our own happiness don't we? Wanna know what I did? I'm so pleased that you asked! 1. CHEESE - yeah no, you absolutely read that right. I got myself a nice little platter - and when I say platter - I mean straight out of the biscuit box and the cheese dip container - and I fed my soul with the best 2 food groups known to humanity. Cheese fixes everything!
2. MUSIC - crank the tunes baby! I pulled up Spotify, turned on the speakers and downloaded every possible old song I could remember. My kids were both totally horrified and impressed!
3. DANCE - yep, you heard me. Here I was in the kitchen and I was busting out a move that even I didn't know I could do! I even remembered the Spice Girls dance along with the Backstreet Boys, S Club! I know you are remembering them as you read this!!! I was dancing so hard that even my husbo couldn't resist to join in. We haven't danced like that for years!
4. SCREEN TIME - I feel like the nagging biatch writing this but I know when I am on my phone allll the damn time I start to turn into....lets call it....not exceptional. Minimise your screen time folks. Remember what our Mamas used to say - it will give you square eyes!
5. SLEEP - I'm not going to act like an expert but if you truly love yo'self or you are trying to love yo'self that bit more - sleep. It's like buying your body some flowers, chocolates and telling her she is beautiful.
So if you are finding yourself totally overwhelmed by all the shit bits of the world at the moment - maybe try and do a few of these. If cheese isn't your favourite food group - replace it with chocolate. I'm no expert - but I do know that when we can stop, spin the situation on it's head and thank the universe - well, maybe you will find yourself happier.
